G.Moscatelli History: Italian Handcrafted Lighting
The beginning
In 1938, the publication of the first catalogue marked an important milestone, though World War II temporarily paused operations. The 1950s brought renewal, as the second generation led by Claudio Moscatelli joined during Italy’s economic renaissance. Under his leadership, the company introduced innovative classic designs and developed significant improvements in production processes, setting new standards in the industry. The growing demand for our lighting necessitated a move to larger headquarters in 1958, the same location where we proudly continue our work today.

World exports
The 1980s welcomed the third generation – anna, paola, and silvia – who strengthened our international presence while preserving our artisanal heritage. During these decades, our lighting pieces enhanced renowned spaces like the teatro alla scala and hotel principe di savoia in milan, maison cartier on new york’s fifth avenue, and luxury hotels such as the beau rivage in lausanne and the four seasons doha.
Nowadays
Today, as the fourth generation – claudio and luca – brings fresh perspectives and innovation, G. Moscatelli continues its journey that began nearly a century ago. Our workshop in milan still honors traditional techniques, with skilled artisans crafting each piece by hand. This commitment to authentic italian craftsmanship, passed down through four generations, remains the cornerstone of our identity.
